Daily excursions for short time guests
"FrankFrank Lake"
From our lodge we start for an easy hike via a well wooded area towards FrankFrank lake, an absolute remotely situated mountain lake.
Lunch is in an old, cozy log house, afterwards there is plenty of time to explore the lake and it's surroundings per canoe or "to bath" the fishing rod for to pull a pike ashore. In the evening we will hike back to Indian Creek Lodge on a different path.
"Snafu Lakes"
An hour ride leads us to the snafu lakes, a water surface with several manageable, little lakes.
(For inexperienced canoeists there are enough possibilities to do some training on our riskless "house lake" beforehand).
Lunch will be on one of the numerous islands with good fishing opportunity. Make your own decision how long this day trip will take basically.
Hike to "Sheep Mountain"
The ascent to Sheep Mountain takes approximately 3 hours and we will be rewarded with an amazing panorama up to Llewellyn Glacier, including the surrounding chain of lakes.
In an elongated hike on the high plateau are good chances to observe Mountain goat's, Caribou's and Grizzly bear's.
Hike to "Indian Lake"
This easy hike to Indian Lake and back will take about 6 hours and leads us through pine forest surrounded by high mountain ranges.
A tidbit - especially during Indian summer. At the shores of Indian Lake we linger for a hearty snack and enjoy the impressive panorama.
Hike to "Ruffner Mine" and "Volcano Creek"
Mining history dated back to the 19 th century.
We reach the start of this trip in about an hour ride. The ascent to mines and their shafts takes about 2 hours. Once more we will be awarded by incredible panorama's.
A hike over the summit to Surprise Lake is possible, though weather depending. The surrounding mountain tops can be reached without big complications also however in this case we have to schedule for a long day.
Hike to "Monarch Mountain"
We drive the 30 km's to Atlin where the hike to Monarch Mountain is in close by.
This will be a smooth, nevertheless a partially steep daily hike. We will take our time to dwell and to savor the breathtaking scenery.
